ALEXA VERME

DIRECTOR

Alexa has deep project and program management experience. Prior to joining Kitamba, she worked at Educare DC, a high-quality Head Start program in Washington, DC. While at Educare DC, she led a variety of strategic and operational projects to deepen the school's impact on children and families. Projects included securing accreditation, developing an advocacy platform, designing and managing a college savings program, and applying for and implementing an Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership grant. Previously, Alexa has worked at Deloitte, on a mayoral campaign, and at Teach for America as an Education Pioneer fellow. She also spent two years teaching undergraduate students in China through the Yale-China Teaching Fellowship. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Yale University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Columbia University. Alexa believes that education begins from birth and is passionate about supporting educators, schools, and other organizations to provide enriching and supportive education opportunities for all students.
