Rajeev began his career in education over a decade ago as an elementary school teacher at PS 161 in Harlem. After his time in the classroom, he transitioned to key leadership roles at the New York City Department of Education, including Managing Director in the Office of Accountability. Most recently, Rajeev served as President of Sangari Global Education, an education services provider that delivers inquiry-based science educational materials to over 500,000 students worldwide. Prior to his work in education, Rajeev began his career in technology first at Microsoft and later as part of the core team that launched Jamcracker, a web services provider based in Silicon Valley. Rajeev graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering/Management Sciences and has a Master’s degree in Education from Hunter College. He is a recipient of a Fulbright Teaching Fellowship through the Fulbright Memorial Fund-Japan and is a 2012 graduate of the Broad Foundation’s Fellowship for Education Leaders.
Erin mcgoldrick brewster

Erin specializes in data innovation. Erin has worked with a variety of clients including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the College Board, and dozens of state and district school systems. She was the Chief of Data and Accountability for the District of Columbia Public Schools under Chancellor Michelle Rhee. She also held data-focused positions at the California Charter Schools Association, Los Angeles Unified School District, and Los Angeles Educational Partnership. Erin earned an undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame and a master's degree in Public Policy at U.C.L.A. Erin is passionate about the work she does at Kitamba because she believes that a good education is the single most important opportunity a child can be given and that no child should be deprived of that opportunity.
Sam previously served as the Executive Director of Family Support for Newark Public Schools. She managed Newark’s Family Support Center and Contact Center, which helped students, and families with all issues related to school enrollment. Prior to her work at NPS, Sam served as a leader in the classroom. She taught for five years in Houston, Texas in both district and charter schools. Sam completed her Master in Public Policy at the University of Michigan and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Latin American Studies.
Lauren Bittmann comes to Kitamba with a background in Human Resources/Marketing. She is a graduate of Bloomsburg University with a degree in Business Management. Lauren enjoys traveling and spending time with her two daughters and husband at their home in Hamilton, NJ. Lauren has always been passionate about the value of education and looks forward to supporting the Kitamba team as they continue to expand educational opportunities for our most vulnerable children.
Before joining Kitamba, Roger worked in international marketing at FlixBus in Munich, Germany, and supported research on transatlantic relations at Rome’s Center for American Studies. He graduated with a BA from Stanford University and currently lives in Washington, DC. Roger believes that increased access to a quality education—especially during early childhood—has an outsized impact on a student's future success, and is fortunate to be able to work in service of this goal at Kitamba. During his free time, he enjoys volunteering as a teacher and tutor for ELL students of of all ages.
CHIEF OF STAFF
Nimisha is Chief of Staff at Kitamba and provides support on strategic planning, project management, and implementation for districts and cities. Prior to joining Kitamba, Nimisha worked as a Project Manager/Business Analyst at Goldman Sachs in New York. Nimisha graduated with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and Political Science from Yale University and resides in Manhattan. Nimisha believes strongly in the power of education to empower those in greatest need and is passionate about working at Kitamba to have a real, enduring impact on access to high quality education for the students that need it the most.
Lauren provides support in policy research, data analysis and tool development, project management, and strategic planning. Lauren worked previously as a Match Corps Fellow in a charter middle school in Boston, where she led small-group literacy tutorials and helped design a template for fellows to analyze student data to improve their instruction. She also has experience working for the NewDEAL, a national network of rising state and local elected leaders, and served on the founding board of a nonprofit that supports wounded veterans. Lauren received a dual B.A. in Psychology and English from Georgetown University and currently lives in Washington, D.C. Lauren has always been passionate about education reform, with a strong interest in using data and innovation in schools to improve educational outcomes for all students. She is excited to work at Kitamba where she gets to support various clients through data analysis and strategic problem solving in order to make a lasting impact for more kids.
Abigail works as a Business Analyst at Kitamba. Prior to joining the Kitamba team, Abigail worked in the New York City public school system as a teaching fellow with Blue Engine and a college counselor with College Confident. While in the public school system, she helped students address academic obstacles and connected students with a variety of academic and career enrichment opportunities. Abigail holds a B.A. in International Relations from Yale University where she focused her studies on the transatlantic relationship between the United States and France. Abigail believes that every student deserves a challenging and innovative educational experience and is excited to be a part of the Kitamba team because of its commitment to transforming education for all students.
Holly is a Product Manager at Kitamba leading efforts to bring high-quality and effective tools to educators, funders, and policymakers in education. Prior to Kitamba, Holly worked in science communications and outreach with Schmidt Ocean Institute, working to create connections between oceanographic research, conservation, and education. Holly completed her PhD in biomedical engineering at Yale after finishing her undergraduate degree at Brown University. As an engineer, Holly strove to engage younger students and the public in cutting-edge research and is highly invested in promoting life-long learning and continued curiosity in how the world works and can be improved. Holly is excited to combine her passions for education and outreach with her technical and problem-solving experience at Kitamba.
SENIOR Business analyst
Austin supports education innovation as a Business Analyst with Kitamba. Before joining Kitamba, Austin was a Yale-China Teaching Fellow at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and supported English language curriculum development and instruction for students of all ages for public and private institutions in Hong Kong. Austin graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and Chemistry, and a specialization in Energy Studies from Yale University. Austin is excited to apply his passion for community centered work and education innovation to his work with Kitamba to help secure better futures for all students.
Rupa specializes in project management and content development. Throughout her career, Rupa has managed and developed educational in-person and online trainings and curriculum to improve student learning and outcomes in over 30 school districts, trained over 5,000 teachers and developed and implemented programs impacting over 200,000 students around the world. Rupa graduated from Babson College with a Bachelors of Science in Business with concentrations in Entrepreneurship and Marketing and lives in New York City. Rupa is passionate about the work she does at Kitamba as her work aligns to her personal mission to bring innovative learning opportunities to all children.
Collin specializes in policy design, implementation, change management, and execution of large-scale initiatives for cities, districts, and states. Collin's background is in law, policy, and education. Collin has worked closely with leaders in state and local education agencies. Collin graduated from NYU Law School and currently lives in Brooklyn. He is committed to transforming the public education delivery system to provide exciting, enriching, and innovative options for all students.
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
Stacy specializes in financial management and analysis. She spent the early part of her career working in the public accounting sector, before moving into higher education, starting out as an Investment Accountant at Rider University and then ultimately becoming the Assistant Dean for Administration for their College of Business. In addition to her roles at Rider, Stacy also taught as an Adjunct Professor for the University focusing on introductory business and service learning courses. Most recently, she spent a little over two years as a Fund Accounting Manager for The VMS Group, where her focus was managing the accounting and reporting needs for numerous Venture Capital Funds. She resides in Hamilton, NJ with her husband. Stacy is excited to be supporting Kitamba and the great work the team does to expand and improve educational opportunities for children every day.

Samantha specializes in strategic planning, data, and implementation of change initiatives for non-profits, school districts and states, and private companies. Samantha began her career in finance at J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank and has also held positions as a consultant for Columbia Law School's Center for Public Research and Leadership and KIPP Austin through a fellowship with Education Pioneers. Samantha resides in New York City and holds a B.B.A. from The University of Texas and a M.B.A from Columbia Business School.
Mark specializes in education finance, data analysis, and strategic advising for education initiatives. Before joining Kitamba, Mark was the Director of Financial Strategy at the Newark Public Schools, where he led school-based and central office budgeting for the district and helped negotiate and implement its performance-based teachers contract. Previous employers include MDRC, Columbia University, and NERA Economic Consulting. He is based in Washington, DC and holds a bachelor's degree from Bowdoin College and a master's degree from Columbia University. Working at Kitamba allows Mark to pursue his passion for developing innovative solutions to our education system's pressing challenges.
